Amazon stepin electronics

The online retailer is notoriously reticent to divulge sales figures for its specific products, but the fact that the Fire phone has tumbled nearly $200 in price in a matter of weeks implies that its sales were not up to Amazon’s expectations.

Mobile Security

ADD MORE SECURITY TO YOUR MOBILE PHONES

Carriers of both iOS and Android mobile devices can improve their mobile security with apps that offer help with password management, encryption and other security best practices.
                   By Aaron Weiss

When security analysts look at the potential weaknesses in a system, they talk about how much "surface area" is exposed to risk. Mobile computing is an incredible convenience but it has also sizably increased our personal surface areas. Smartphones and tablets extend network access to our sensitive data well outside the home and office, and the devices themselves are physically small and vulnerable to loss and theft.

Sony Xperia T

This is James Bond's phone apparently. Well, he was seen using it in Skyfall, so that's good enough for us. It packs some lower specs than others on this list, but combines them in an attractive unit.

The Xperia T heads back to the design language of the Xperia Arc, meaning it's got a lovely curved back that sits comfortably in the hand, and the large and expansive screen provides great video playback thanks to the Bravia Engine.

Sony has produced another impressive smartphone that offers the functionality and performance we're looking for in a top-level handset.

That being said, when compared with the earlier Sony Xperia S, or some of the other Android handsets, the difference is negligible - with the Xperia Z far, far superior.

Quick verdict

The Sony Xperia T is a very, very good phone. Despite opting for a dual-core processor over a quad-core option, the Xperia T doesn't lag and navigating the interface is smooth and easy.

Killer Game

back to iOS devices
Are smartphones and tablets all the same? Or are there killer apps that still make people choose one brand over another?

Clash of Clans. Available on the Apple App Store -- and only the Apple App Store.

I'm not a big believer in killer apps, but I might have to revise that thinking. A game only for iOS has pulled me and one of my boys back to our iOS devices this summer. It's a sign how even as Apple faces challenges from a growing Android ecosystem, it still has plenty of pull.

 iPhone 5S
launch event reportedly happening on Sept 10,2013

 source by : techgig03 & expertreviews

One month from today Apple will announce the iPhone 5S to the world at a press conference, according to a report today.
The iPhone 5S launch event is said to be scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10, claimed sources who spoke to AllThingsD.
Previous rumors point to the next smartphone having a bumped up processor, likely the Apple A6X or the A7, a better camera to compete with the 13-megapixel Samsung Galaxy S4, and superfast LTE-Advanced.
There's also a lot of anticipation surrounding a possible fingerprint sensor, which is thought to be used to unlock the smartphone in addition to other security-related functions.
One item on Apple's agenda we know about for sure regards hearing more details about the launch of iOS 7, its fresh take on the mobile operating system that was first unveiled in June.

Cheaper iPhone, too?

Also expected on stage at next month's Apple press conference is an all-plastic, cheap iPhone model, currently being called the iPhone 5C.
The rumored budget-friendly smartphone would be a first for the company, with leaked images pointing to multiple colors in addition to a cheaper price.
Photos purported to be from factories in China seem to indicate at least five colors: red, blue, yellow, green and white.
