When we're routinely relying on fingerprints or other biometric tech instead of -- ugh -- user names and passwords, we may look back on the launch of the iPhone 5s as a groundbreaking day in tech history. There's something really annoying about kids running around with the latest iPhone -- for starters, the idea of so much money being stuffed into a teenager's pocket. However, because kids having iPhones is inevitable, the 5c will take off like crazy with this market segment. The lower price point, plasticky polycarbonate, and differentiation from the 5s will lower the bar to entry with kids and their parents. It will sell.

Yesterday Apple announced its new iOS7 release and what a release it is.  Today, less than 24 hours after iOS7 was publicly released, ShinobiControls releasing  iOS Suite version 2.5.  That includes new versions of our iOS charts, grids and essentials controls (also available individually as normal) which have all been revised to offer full support for iOS7.  Along with simple bug fixes to address any changes in APIs Apple has undertaken, we've introduced a brand new theme for each of the controls which mirror's Apple's new look UI.

Release Date Nears: 5 Features And Specs To Expect Based On Rumors

One month from today Apple will announce the iPhone 5S to the world at a press conference, according to a report today.

The iPhone 5S launch event is said to be scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 10, claimed sources who spoke to AllThingsD.

Previous rumors point to the next smartphone having a bumped up processor, likely the Apple A6X or the A7, a better camera to compete with the 13-megapixel Samsung Galaxy S4, and superfast LTE-Advanced.

There's also a lot of anticipation surrounding a possible fingerprint sensor, which is thought to be used to unlock the smartphone in addition to other security-related functions.

One item on Apple's agenda we know about for sure regards hearing more details about the launch of iOS 7, its fresh take on the mobile operating system that was first unveiled in June.

Cheaper iPhone, too?

Also expected on stage at next month's Apple press conference is an all-plastic, cheap iPhone model, currently being called the iPhone 5C.

The rumored budget-friendly smartphone would be a first for the company, with leaked images pointing to multiple colors in addition to a cheaper price.

Photos purported to be from factories in China seem to indicate at least five colors: red, blue, yellow, green and white.
