Amazon stepin electronics

The online retailer is notoriously reticent to divulge sales figures for its specific products, but the fact that the Fire phone has tumbled nearly $200 in price in a matter of weeks implies that its sales were not up to Amazon’s expectations.

HTC : Mystery Device

HTC sent out invites earlier today to a New York City event on August 19, leaving us to wonder what it could have it store.

The One (M8) maker offered no details on what the event will be about, though a representative said in an email, "We think you'll want to be there."

Mobile Gadgets That Connect to Wi-Fi without a Battery

A new breed of mobile wireless device lacks a battery or other energy storage, but it can still send data over Wi-Fi. These prototype gadgets, developed by researchers at the University of Washington, get all the power they need by making use of the Wi-Fi, TV, radio, and cellular signals that are already in the air.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S vs. iPad

There are tons of Android tablets out there, but few are equipped to take on the iPad. Samsung's recently released Galaxy Tab S series, however, may offer the best Android tablets you can buy.

Other than their super-slim design and gorgeous display, the Tab S models come with a handful of software features that allow you to do more than you can with an iPad.

Here's a quick look at the 8 things you can do with a Galaxy Tab S tablet that you can't do with an iPad.

1. Both Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4 come with Samsung's fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button. Since Samsung has partnered with PayPal, you can use your fingerprint to verify purchases rather than typing in a password.

2. Thanks to Samsung's Multi Window mode, you can open two apps and run them alongside each other on the home screen of the two Samsung Galaxy Tab S models.

3. Samsung's SideSync feature, which lets you control your phone from the Galaxy Tab S tablets, only works if you have a Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5 or Galaxy Note 3.

The feature is designed to make it easier to transfer files between your phone and tablet, but you can also use your tablet to make or answer phone calls.

Making calls from your tablet seems a bit awkward, but the idea is that if your phone is in another room, you can still answer the call immediately without having to run to get it.

Moto G

Motorola has cut the prices of its Moto G smartphone in India by Rs 2,000. This move comes soon after the launch of smartphones like Asus ZenFone 5 (Rs 9,999) and Xiaomi Mi 3 (Rs 13,999), which offer better specifications at more aggressive prices.

With this price cut, the 8GB version of Moto G can be purchased for Rs 10,499, while the 16GB model is available for Rs 11,999. This is a limited period offer and valid only till stocks last, according to the listing on Flipkart, which is the sole retailer of Motorola smartphones in India.

Flipkart has previously lowered the prices of Moto G via smartphone buyback offers, but there has never been any flat-out price cut for the device yet.

Moto G sports a 4.5-inch screen with a 720p resolution and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) operating system. It is powered by a middle-of-line Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor running at 1.2GHz. The device comes with 8GB and 16GB storage options and has 1GB RAM. The primary camera can shoot images in 5MP, while the secondary camera is 1.3MP.

It is rumoured that Motorola is working on the successor of Moto G at present. While most hardware features of the smartphone remain the same as the original Moto G, the upcoming successor will reportedly get a camera upgrade.....

This Is How Big Businesses Use Logos To Emotionally Connect With The Consumers

It is a well-known fact that colours effects ones way of seeing things and decision making. Big companies around the world know the truth behind the science and use different coloured logos to effect consumer decisions. An Infographic released by Ruby Media Corp and Finances Online shows how different logos, its design and its colour effects how one looks at the company.

These do effect the customers buying pattern and makes them feel comfortable with a brand. When a person is just at the tender age of 3, he/she starts to recognising logos and when they turn 7 or 8 they know exactly which brand or product a logo is associated with.

But designing the right logo is not easy and it certainly costs a lot. Brands spend a lot on the new logo designs and millions of dollars exchange hands before the users get to see the final markings. This is a very interesting and detailed infographic on the science of logos. Have a look....

Apple iphone 6

Apple shifted iPhone launches from summer to fall in recent years, but one thing has otherwise remained constant: Consumers always line up around the block on a Friday, but that could be changing this year.

MacRumors has reported that Apple may be planning to reveal the forthcoming iPhone 6 at a media event on Tuesday, September 16, but has tentatively staked out October 14 for the actual on-sale date — presumably for the US and other first-world countries, at least.

According to an unnamed source attending a recent "internal Apple Retail Store meeting," a senior Store Leader apparently remarked how that particular day would be an "immense" one for the company, whose brick-and-mortar stores are expected to be busy all month long.

The report has raised eyebrows in many circles, considering every iPhone launch since the first-generation handset in 2007 has taken place on a Friday, yet October 14 very clearly falls on a Tuesday this year.
Enough for everyone?
The only explanation offered by the source for swapping the day of the week was "high customer demand," which seems to be motivating Apple to ramp up iPhone 6 production to unprecedented levels in order to keep "an ample supply" available.

A separate report earlier this month outlined plans for a mid-September Apple event to take the wraps off iPhone 6 and iOS 8, with a second event penciled onto the calendar in October to announce the release of OS X 10.10 Yosemite, Mac and iPad product refreshes and possibly even a launch for the rumoured iWatch....
